The Swedish poet, author and songwriter Dan Andersson, from the village of Skattlösberg (in the landscape of Dalarna), was born in 1888. The big cultural event Dan Andersson Week began in 1988 as a celebration of the poet´s 100th birthday. Dan Andersson Week is held in memory of one of Sweden’s most illustrious poets, who had his native soil form a backdrop in his works, in his search for meaning and truth.
Dan Anderson Week is a cultural experience beyond the ordinary and it´s in the magical Poetry land – Ludvika district in Dalarna. It is implemented in late July / August and always ends with the big Luossa Party in the village of Skattlösberg on the first Sunday in August.
Dan Andersson Week consists of nine days packed with cultural events in the spirit and footsteps of the poet. It takes place all around in the rich cultural environments and in the beautiful nature of the Ludvika district. Dan Andersson Week is created in collaboration with a wide variety of cultural organizers: literary societies, cultural associations, homestead associations, educational associations, churches, various private parties and Brunnsvik School.
